Russia attacks gas pipelines in Ukraine
According to hvylya.net: Mykola Kolesnyk, Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine, stated that Russia has started an assault on certain gas transmission facilities that supply gas to Ukrainian cities. He revealed this information during the forum 'Energy that sustains Ukraine'.
'We see that the enemy has started to attack certain facilities, I will not name them, that are essential for the distribution of natural gas to specific localities,' Kolesnyk said.
He noted that these facilities are not strategic, but the enemy may try to reduce the capacity of gas transportation to key heating supply points.
Protection of gas pipelines is being strengthened
Due to the attacks, the physical protection of gas transmission facilities has been reinforced. This helps to protect them from potential enemy interference. Kolesnyk also reported that Ukraine intends to import significant volumes of gas to compensate for losses from the attacks on production.
'The enemy is not going to retreat; we have received over six strikes since the beginning of October, and we have to repel them,' he emphasized.
Despite attempts to fill underground storage with gas before the heating season at 99.5%, Ukraine still relies on imports due to reduced production. It was planned to pump 13.2 billion cubic meters of gas.
During the forum 'Energy that sustains Ukraine', Mykola Kolesnyk disclosed information about attacks on gas pipelines in Ukraine. Russia is trying to limit gas transportation to key heating supply facilities, however, Ukrainian authorities are strengthening the protection of gas transmission facilities and planning gas imports to compensate for losses.
