Russians hit the Cabinet with Iskander: how the rocket did not fully explode
Russia used 'Iskander' against the Cabinet
Katarina Maternova, EU ambassador, reported that Russian troops struck the Cabinet of Ministers building with a ballistic 'Iskander' missile. 'Putin knows exactly what he is doing. The missile was aimed directly at the heart of the government of Ukraine,' wrote Maternova.
According to Defense Express, analysis of the debris showed that the strike on the Cabinet was carried out specifically by the 9M727 missile from the 'Iskander' system, not by a drone. The explosive part of the missile did not function, and the fire was caused by a fuel flash from the missile's tanks.
This is the first attack on the Cabinet since the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Fortunately, no one from the government staff was injured, and rescuers are actively helping to eliminate the consequences of this event and rescue the victims.
The damaged Cabinet building, as well as the necessity to evacuate people under the rubble, highlight the importance of constant monitoring of the situation and readiness to act in extreme circumstances.
