The average pension size increased in Ukraine in October 2025

A new increase in the average pension has been recorded in Ukraine. As of October 1, 2025, the average payment size reached 6,436.79 UAH, while in July it was 6,410.17 UAH. This was reported by the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

How many pensioners are in Ukraine in 2025

According to official information, as of the beginning of October, there are 10.2 million pensioners in the country, of which 2.8 million continue to work. This category shows a more noticeable increase: the average pension of working pensioners has risen to 7,069.37 UAH compared to 6,974.61 UAH in July.

What is the size of pensions for Ukrainians in 2025

The structure of pension payments is as follows:

• 3.6% of pensioners receive up to 3,000 UAH;

• 31.6% receive from 3,001 to 4,000 UAH;

• 20.6% receive from 4,001 to 5,000 UAH;

• 29.1% receive from 5,001 to 10,000 UAH;

• 15% receive over 10,000 UAH.

The majority of Ukrainian pensioners (73%) receive age-related payments, and another 14.5% due to disability. Despite a slight increase in the average figure, more than half of pensioners (55.8%) have pensions less than 5,000 UAH, which remains below the actual subsistence minimum.

It is worth reminding that, according to the Ministry of Finance, from January to September 2025, the state financed social payments amounting to 285.5 billion UAH. All payments were made on time and in full, ensuring the stability of payments even in difficult economic conditions.

Earlier we wrote that the minimum pension will increase in 2026. The Ministry of Social Policy, together with the Pension Fund, is working on a new formula that will tie payments to real economic indicators.
