World Congress of Ukrainians in 2025: over 2000 events to support Ukraine

In 2025, the World Congress of Ukrainians organized over 2000 events in 75 countries to support Ukraine. This is stated in the annual report of the WCU.'The year 2025 became a year of courage, unity, and tangible progress. In the face of Russian aggression, the WCU stood side by side with the defenders of Ukraine, volunteers, and millions of Ukrainians worldwide who resisted the imperial regime,' said WCU President Pavlo Grod.The activities of the WCU were focused on three strategic directions: ensuring Ukraine's victory, promoting its recovery, and strengthening the united Ukrainian world.'In the field of advocacy and ensuring Ukraine's victory, the WCU organized over 2000 events in 75 countries to keep the Ukrainian struggle on the agenda in global power centers - from the UN General Assembly to European capitals. Key efforts were aimed at advocating for the creation of a mechanism for confiscating frozen Russian assets for Ukraine's further recovery, as well as lobbying for international support for the return of deported Ukrainian children.'The 'Unite with Ukraine' initiative helped Ukrainian defenders by delivering critical equipment worth over 20 million Canadian dollars. This assisted in supplying various equipment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.In matters of promoting Ukraine's recovery, a significant role was played by the Law on Dual Citizenship, adopted in July 2025. The 'Energize Ukraine' initiative aided in the restoration of Ukraine's energy infrastructure, which benefited millions of Ukrainians.The WCU enhanced support for Ukrainian identity and education. A special event was the 'Educational Marathon,' which jointly brought educators together to develop legislative proposals. The Youth Leadership Fund named after Stefan Romaniw was also launched to engage youth in Ukrainian affairs and reconstruction.The WCU declared 2026 the Year of Global Ukrainian Unity, emphasizing the importance of expanding presence and joint efforts for Ukraine's future.In 2025, the World Congress of Ukrainians actively supported Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression and contributed to its recovery and strengthening of the Ukrainian world.
