Tomahawks for Ukraine: they will provide a few missiles, but will not immediately allow firing at the Russian Federation
U.S. President Donald Trump 'almost' decided to transfer Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine, but this is not a quick victory, but a cunning game of pressure on Putin for negotiations. Instead of an immediate strike on the aggressor, supplies will start with a few units without permission to fire, and will only gradually expand depending on Moscow's reaction. This was reported by people's deputy Yegor Chernev.
How Trump will pressure Putin with Tomahawks for Ukraine
Trump clearly hinted: he does not want escalation, so he will first clarify how the missiles will be used. The goal is to make the Kremlin sit at the table, not to ignite a new wave.
Yegor Chernev predicts: first a couple of dozen Tomahawks will be given, but they will prohibit firing to see if Putin will bite on negotiations. If he remains silent, limited strikes on border targets will be allowed, and later the radius and volume will expand.
Each step is a chance for Moscow to retreat, otherwise supplies will increase. The whole scheme may stretch over months, but this is tough pressure: missiles as an argument that Ukraine is not alone.
Key stages of gradually deploying Tomahawks for the Armed Forces of Ukraine
- Initial supply: a few missiles without permission to use, monitoring the Kremlin's reaction;
- Limited fire: strikes on border targets if Putin ignores negotiations;
- Expansion: increasing volume and radius with each escalation from the Russian Federation;
- Final: lifting most restrictions, but without strikes on Moscow or directly on the leader.
This approach is not weakness, but strategy: Trump keeps Putin on edge, giving time for maneuvers. For Ukrainians, this means: the Armed Forces will receive powerful weapons (Tomahawk strikes at 2500 km with an accuracy of 10 m), but without 'free hunting'.
Analysts note that Trump did not accidentally say 'almost decided'. This is a signal that the deal is on pause until the usage becomes clear. If the Kremlin does not respond, pressure will increase, and missiles will fly further.
