According to glavcom.ua: The ceremonial presentation of the highest civilian honor in the U.S. - the Presidential Medal of Freedom, posthumously to Charlie Kirk, took place at the White House. The widow of the blogger and political activist received this award from President Donald Trump.

«Today we honor the memory of Charlie Kirk, a true American patriot who inspired a new generation with his fearlessness and convictions,» Trump emphasized.

The head of state also noted that he specifically returned from a trip to the Middle East to personally honor Charlie Kirk on his birthday.

After the death of Charlie Kirk

The blogger and Trump supporter was shot in the neck during a speech at the University of Utah; he later died in the hospital. Utah prosecutors will seek the death penalty for the suspect in the murder, Tyler Robinson, who, according to them, confessed to the crime.
