Free Social Taxi Service Launches for Veterans in Brovary
Free Social Taxi in Brovary
According to Главком: A new free social taxi service has been launched at the Brovary City Veterans Center, known as Veteran PRO. It is designed for:
- war veterans,
- individuals with disabilities caused by war,
- military personnel who have been wounded,
- and other defenders with limited mobility.
Eligible users must be registered or actually reside within the Brovary city territorial community.
The service provides free transportation to social, medical, and rehabilitation facilities, as well as to administrative service centers (TsNAPs) and train stations. According to the press service of the Brovary City Territorial Community:
“The social taxi for veterans is a special transport service for war veterans, people with disabilities resulting from war, service members who sustained injuries, trauma, or illness during military duty, and other low-mobility defenders who require assistance while moving.”
Expansion of Social Taxi Services Across Ukraine
It is worth noting that social taxi services are also available in 25 territorial communities across the Kyiv region, with around 700 trips used each month. Additionally, a pilot project for a social taxi has been launched in Kyiv to transport children with disabilities. This highlights how social taxis are becoming a key tool for supporting vulnerable groups in the region.
The introduction of free social taxis in Brovary is part of a broader set of measures aimed at supporting veterans and people with limited mobility. It reflects growing attention to the needs of these groups in Ukraine and the local government's commitment to making social services more accessible. Given the positive outcomes in other communities, further expansion of such initiatives across the country is expected.
In addition to the newly launched social taxi service, the Ukrainian government is also enhancing support for veterans and their families through innovative online platforms. For instance, the recent introduction of an online service on the Diia portal aims to streamline access to essential resources and information, further demonstrating the commitment to improving the lives of those who have served the nation.
