According to Главком: On December 27, more than 500 thousand consumers were left without electricity in Kyiv and the Kyiv region due to Russian shelling that damaged the electrical infrastructure. The situation in the region's energy system has sharply worsened, leading to significant disruptions in electricity supply.
As of 15:00 on December 27, over 500 thousand consumers were reported to be without electricity in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. The shelling occurred throughout the night from December 26 to 27, causing serious damage to the energy infrastructure. As a result of these attacks, not only the capital but also other regions, particularly Chernihiv region, suffered - more than 22 thousand subscribers are left without power in Chernihiv region.
Artem Nekrasov, a representative of the energy sector, noted: 'As of 15:00, over 500 thousand consumers were left without power in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.'
He also added that energy workers are doing everything possible to restore light and heat to the homes of Ukrainians as soon as possible.
Consequences of shelling and the situation with victims
In addition, as of 11:10 on December 28, 28 people were recorded injured in the capital due to fires caused by drone strikes. This situation underscores the seriousness of the consequences of the night shelling and the challenges facing Ukraine's energy system.
