A new water pipeline has started in Mykolaiv: how the water quality will change
As of October 1, water supply from a new pipeline from Nova Odesa has begun in Mykolaiv, which should improve the quality of drinking water in the city. This information was provided by the head of the Mykolaiv OVA, Vitaliy Kim, in an interview with 'Glavkom'.
He informed that the new pipeline from Nova Odesa is 67 km long and consists of two water supply lines with a capacity of 120 thousand cubic meters. Water from the Southern Bug River will supply the city.
«As of October 1, the water is already flowing on a permanent basis. By about October 7-8, it will already enter the city's system. Currently, different meters and flow meters are being tested... Most likely, at first, we will mix: water from the Ingulec with water from the new pipeline to flush out the old water. It won't become crystal clear overnight. However, people will gradually feel how it gets better. The entire process may take four months, although the projected timeframe was twice as long,»
said Vitaliy Kim.
The final stage of the new pipeline construction
Oleksiy Kuleba reported that the construction of the new pipeline for Mykolaiv is at the final stage. The system has been gradually filling with water for three weeks, and each section is undergoing testing and verification. It remains to connect 1.9 km to the existing water supply network to ensure stable water supply to the city.
The cost of constructing the new pipeline has been reduced from 8.7 billion UAH to 5 billion UAH due to adjustments in the technical and economic justification of the project.
