Ozon sells toy drones-'shakheds' for children: what is the danger

Toy 'shakheds' with firecrackers in an online store
Діти можуть безпечно грати з іграшковими дронами, але батькам слід бути уважними до вибору іграшок.

According to glavcom.ua: Advertising videos show how a child launches these 'shakhed' toy drones, after which the 'nose' reportedly explodes. The packaging and promotional materials use symbols related to the campaign of militarization of children in Russia. The sale of such 'explosive toys' has sparked criticism due to the real use of 'shakheds' - Iranian drones in the conflict with Ukraine. One out of three product listings was removed from the site, but the children's model remained available for purchase. The manufacturer responded that they do not specialize in military products and all items undergo certification checks.

In the Russian online store Ozon, copies of toy 'shakhed' drones are being sold. These toys have a children's version, as well as an 'adult' model that contains a firecracker and simulates an explosion upon impact. The product description positions it as an ideal gift for little patriots and future conquerors of the sky. The price for the children's model is around 351 rubles, while the 'adult' version is 480 rubles. This is reported by 'Glavkom' citing The Telegraph.

According to journalists, the production of these toys may be linked to the 'Alabuga' industrial zone in Tatarstan, where reports indicate that combat 'shakheds' are assembled and underage technical school students are involved in the work. The head of this enterprise has already come under US sanctions for exploiting minors.

The fact presented in the news confirms the presence of military-patriotic propaganda in the sale of toy drones in Russia. The criticism from the public and the manufacturer's response to these remarks are important. It is necessary to carefully monitor the impact of such products on children and the overall situation of militarization in society.
