Agreements with European Partners

According to Главком: Ukraine has secured agreements with six European nations to receive equipment from decommissioned thermal power plants (TPPs) and combined heat and power plants (CHPPs) to help restore its energy grid. The deals were made with Latvia, Austria, Finland, Croatia, France, and Germany. This equipment is expected to be transported to Ukraine and installed at local facilities, which will enhance the functionality of the nation's critical energy infrastructure. This support comes as Ukraine continues to repair its power grid following targeted attacks.

Financial Backing and Broader Cooperation

The arrangements include the transfer of at least six decommissioned CHPPs and TPPs. Furthermore, new financial contributions exceeding 250 million euros have been agreed upon for the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. These funds will facilitate the modernization and restoration of Ukraine's energy capacities under extremely challenging conditions.

In a related development, a roadmap for cooperation in civil nuclear energy was signed with France. Additionally, a memorandum on developing an energy partnership was concluded with Canada. Separately, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with UN High Commissioner Bacre Waly Ndiaye, highlighting Ukraine's active diplomatic efforts in the energy sector.
