The document was signed by Ukrainian Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko and German Vice Chancellor and Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil during a meeting held in Paris. This agreement aims to modernize tax regulations in line with the standards set by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
Core Elements of the Accord
The key provisions of the accord include:
- Eliminating double taxation to create fairer conditions for businesses and investors.
- Strengthening measures to combat tax abuses, a priority for both nations.
- Enhancing the exchange of tax-related information between Ukraine and Germany, which will boost transparency and trust in economic cooperation.
Serhiy Marchenko stated: 'Signing this new agreement with Germany is a major step toward deepening economic ties between our countries. It establishes clearer, fairer, and more predictable tax conditions for businesses and investors, while also reinforcing our joint capacity to fight tax evasion.'
Furthermore, the deal is expected to provide more stable conditions for investments and business operations-a critical factor for the economic growth of both nations.
This signing could significantly reshape economic relations between Ukraine and Germany by encouraging foreign investment and fostering entrepreneurship.
