This year, Ukrainians will set their clocks back to winter time in October. From October 25 to 26, the time will be set back one hour, allowing people to sleep longer.
Ukrainians were informed when they will gain an extra hour of sleep at night.
Modern devices, such as phones and tablets, will automatically adjust the time, but regular clocks will need to be reset.
The practice of changing the time twice a year is in effect in more than 70 countries, but some parts of the world have already abandoned it. In 2024, Ukrainian deputies canceled the transitions to summer and winter time, but this decision has not yet been confirmed by the president.
Recommendations for adapting to the new time
- Adjust your sleep schedule a week before the transition by going to bed 15 minutes later
- Reduce physical activity before and after the transition to avoid overexertion
- Avoid coffee and alcohol before changing the clocks
- Consume more vegetables and fruits, drink plenty of water during adaptation
- Stay away from gadgets an hour before sleep
- Walking in the fresh air will help you adapt faster
