Strikes on Russian Military Logistics Infrastructure

According to Главком: Ukraine’s defense forces have struck Russian military logistics facilities that link occupied Crimea with other captured territories. In a sarcastic gesture, the troops thanked blogger Anatoliy Shariy for publishing photos of a pontoon crossing near Chongar. The attacks were carried out by fighters from the 475th Separate Assault Regiment CODE 9.2 and the 1st Separate Assault Regiment. Key targets included:

  • the Dzhankoi checkpoint
  • a railway bridge
  • a pontoon crossing
  • a concentration of trucks near Chongar

Earlier, blogger Anatoliy Shariy had posted detailed images of the Chongar pontoon crossing, showing a buildup of Russian vehicles carrying ammunition and fuel. The strikes hit assets that support logistics for Russian units in the occupied part of Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) note that these attacks aim to disrupt supply routes between Crimea and Kherson Oblast.

Strategic Importance of Controlling Supply Routes

Notably, the first strike on the Chongar bridge occurred on June 7, and on June 9, the crossing was hit again by drones, halting traffic. The Center for Countering Disinformation reported that after a series of attacks, the Chongar bridge was completely destroyed. In response, occupation authorities recommended alternative routes via Armiansk and Perekop.

Addressing Shariy, the military said: 'Anatoly Shariy, thank you very much.'

Thus, the strikes by Ukraine’s defense forces not only damaged the enemy’s logistics capabilities but also highlighted the importance of information support in modern military operations.

These attacks underscore the strategic significance of controlling supply routes in the conflict, as disrupting supplies can severely impact Russian combat effectiveness. Moreover, the interaction between military personnel and civilians like bloggers reflects new forms of information warfare emerging in today’s conflict. This may also encourage greater use of open-source intelligence for planning military operations.

As the situation in Crimea continues to evolve, the recent attacks on logistical targets have drawn attention to the ongoing military struggle.
