The government launches the Veteran. Work program: what awaits defenders from 2025

The government of Ukraine has approved a new Concept of the State Target Program 'Veteran. Work' for the next three years — from 2025 to 2027. This was reported by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs.

The goal of this program is to provide veterans with support in finding jobs, retraining, and developing professional skills after returning to civilian life. The main idea is to make veterans a key factor in the country's economic growth, utilizing their experience and responsibility as an important resource for development.

Among the measures provided for in the program:

• professional adaptation for veterans at all stages of returning to civilian life;
• the possibility for veterans to search for jobs online; development of education and retraining for them;
• interaction between the state and employers through recommendations and standards for integrating veterans into teams, as well as adapting workplaces to modern needs;
• support for veterans in new jobs;
• coordination between central and local government institutions, businesses, civil society, and international partners;
• creating a monitoring and evaluation system.

The Ministry of Veterans Affairs noted that 'implementing this Concept will help strengthen the economic self-sufficiency of veterans, expand their opportunities for professional growth, and successful adaptation to everyday life.'
