In the public transport of the Ivano-Frankivsk community, the fare will temporarily increase starting March 16. The new tariffs will be in effect until April 15, 2026, after which they may be reviewed depending on the situation in the energy market.

This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, Mykhailo Smushak.

Public transportation fares will rise

According to Mykhailo Smushak, the decision was made due to a significant increase in the costs incurred by transportation providers.

He stated that prices for essential resources have significantly risen. If in 2024 a liter of fuel cost about 45.5 UAH, as of March 2026 it is approximately 74 UAH. The cost of electricity has also increased from 11 UAH to 16.5 UAH per kilowatt.

«For now, this decision will be in effect temporarily - from March 16 to April 15, 2026, but further changes will depend on the situation in the fuel and energy markets,» Mykhailo Smushak noted.

New transportation tariffs in the city

In the public transport of Ivano-Frankivsk, several payment options will be established.

The cost of transportation will be:

  • 15 UAH — payment by the transport card «Halka»;

  • 10 UAH — student card «Halka»;

  • 18 UAH — contactless payment or bank card;

  • 20 UAH — cash payment to the driver.

In private public transport, the fare will be 20 UAH.

At the same time, the city will maintain benefits for passengers. Students will continue to be able to use municipal buses and trolleybuses for free. There will also remain the possibility of free transfer within 30 minutes provided payment is made by card.

The last time tariffs for transportation in the city were reviewed was in July 2024.

Note that in the center of Ivano-Frankivsk, riding electric scooters, electric bicycles, and other personal electric transport has been prohibited.
