Ukrainian honey has increased in price by 2–3 times: why beekeepers expect the worst season
According to hvylya.net: Ukrainian beekeeping is facing serious problems. It is known that honey production in 2025 may decrease by a third due to the negative impact of weather. Spring rains and frosts have had a vulnerable impact on honey production, as well as causing massive poisoning of bees and problems with their wintering.
The first honey harvest turned out to be disastrous, - notes the founder of 'Pasika 21' Serhiy Sharonin.
This has led to a sharp increase in honey prices. For example, acacia honey, which once cost 80-100 hryvnias per liter, is now sold for 200-250 hryvnias.
Increase in honey prices
At markets, the price of honey is significantly higher - from 500 to 650 hryvnias per liter, especially acacia honey, which is in demand due to its property to rarely crystallize.
Buckwheat honey currently costs 250-320 hryvnias per liter, wildflower honey from 150 to 250, sunflower - 120-200 hryvnias. Products from the Carpathians are valued at 200-300 hryvnias per liter, wildflower honey - at 150-250 hryvnias.
Experts predict further price increases for honey, which makes it an expensive product at least until the next season.
Ukrainian beekeepers face challenging challenges due to the negative impact of weather conditions on honey production. This has led to a sharp increase in honey prices, especially for popular varieties, which is evident in the markets. Experts predict that prices will continue to rise, which may affect honey consumption in Ukraine in the future.
