The Ministry of Ecology has approved a ban on 13 types of trees for forest restoration: the complete list
The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine has announced a list of trees and plants that are strictly prohibited from being planted in Ukrainian forests. This is an important step to prevent potential negative consequences for the ecosystem.
The banned species include Ailanthus altissima, Manchurian Aralia, Black Walnut, Red Oak, and others that were previously actively used in economic activities for quick forest restoration. The restrictions are aimed at preserving the unique Ukrainian nature and ensuring the ecological safety of forest restoration.
Disputes Amid Restrictions
Despite this, the forestry industry has opposed the introduction of bans and even filed complaints with the State Forest Resources Agency, expressing doubts about the legality of the decision. However, the bans are important for maintaining biodiversity and preserving ecosystems in our country.
Currently, all private landowners and gardeners are advised to choose plants for planting carefully, considering local conditions and following the recommendations of specialists. It's important to remember that not all trees are suitable for creating sustainable green plantings.
Poland has also introduced new rules for drivers from Ukraine, which will be in effect according to the agreement between the countries.
