Ukraine continues to carry out mandatory technical inspections (MTI) of vehicles to reduce the risk of accidents and ensure safety on the roads. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, about 15% of accidents with serious consequences occur each year due to faulty cars.
Experts explain that the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs do not conduct technical inspections directly - their role is to oversee authorized persons who can check the technical condition of vehicles and maintain a register of such organizations.

Particular attention is paid to passenger cars used for commercial purposes, trucks, buses, taxis, and vehicles that transport hazardous goods.

“Regular technical inspections help identify potential problems at early stages and avoid serious accidents”, notes the head of one of the MTI centers.
Specialists emphasize that even a minor malfunction can lead to an accident. Therefore, undergoing mandatory technical inspection is not a formality but an important safety measure for all road users.
It is also worth mentioning that Ukraine is preparing strict penalties for 'serial offenders' of traffic rules.
