According to ХВИЛЯ: In August 2026, certain Ukrainians will receive a one-time cash benefit to mark Independence Day. The payout ranges from 450 to 3,100 hryvnias, depending on the recipient's eligibility category. This financial aid targets war veterans, individuals disabled due to the war, families of fallen defenders, and other designated groups. It is important to note that simply being a pensioner does not qualify someone for this payment.

Recipient Categories and Payment Amounts

Payments are divided among specific groups. The largest sum-3,100 hryvnias-goes to those with special merits to Ukraine and people with war-related disabilities in Group I. Those in Group II will receive 2,900 hryvnias, and Group III recipients 2,700 hryvnias. Combatants, individuals affected by the Revolution of Dignity, and certain former underage prisoners of Nazi camps are entitled to 1,000 hryvnias. Family members of deceased veterans and defenders, including some widows and widowers, will get 650 hryvnias. Meanwhile, war participants, former concentration camp prisoners, and those forcibly deported for labor will receive 450 hryvnias.

For most pensioners, the funds will be automatically transferred along with their August pension. No separate application is needed for those already registered with the Pension Fund of Ukraine as recipients of benefits or subsidies, or whose data appears in state registries. Veterans currently serving in the military will receive their payment through their military units. Those who qualify but are not pensioners, do not receive subsidies or benefits, and are not in active service must apply to the Pension Fund.
