Fine of 2000 zlotys: Ukrainian drivers in Poland
З 1 жовтня 2025 року українцям у Польщі потрібно буде оформити нові водійські посвідчення відповідно до оновлених умов.

The InPoland portal reported that a fine of up to 2,000 zlotys has been established for violations of the rules. Experts emphasize that delaying the procedure may create additional risks for drivers.

From October 1, 2025, Ukrainians who have been in Poland for more than six months are required to exchange their national driving licenses for Polish ones. These requirements are stipulated by the updated UKR temporary protection law, which no longer allows the use of Ukrainian documents without replacement.

Driver's license exchange in Poland

The exchange process is carried out in traffic departments or city offices at the place of residence. To submit an application, it is necessary to provide a valid Ukrainian license, its official translation into Polish, confirmation of legal stay (for example, the PESEL UKR number), and in some cases - a medical certificate or other additional documents.

The cost of the administrative service is about 100.50 zlotys. However, additional fees, including consular ones, may be charged. The review of the application takes up to 30 days, but the process may be delayed if verification of the legality of the Ukrainian license in the relevant registers is needed.
