Zelensky discussed the anti-corruption bill and the 18th sanctions package against Russia with von der Leyen
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had a meeting with the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, during which they talked about Ukraine's European integration and strengthening sanctions against Russia.
The main focus was on the anti-corruption sector. Zelensky presented a bill aimed at improving the effectiveness of anti-corruption bodies in Ukraine.
'We have the same position: it is important for the bill to be quickly adopted, already next week,' emphasized Zelensky.
Zelensky also noted the continuation of reforms to receive financial support through the Ukraine Facility. He signed laws on the reform of ARMA and factoring, receiving support from Ursula von der Leyen.
'I also expressed gratitude for the adoption of the 18th sanctions package by the European Union against Russia,' added Zelensky.
In addition, they discussed preparations for the opening of the first negotiation cluster on Ukraine's membership in the EU. The President expressed readiness to move forward promptly in this direction.
