The Greek organization 'March to Gaza' reported that the vessels were stopped in international waters and the crews claim they were intercepted by Israel as they approached the territory of Gaza.
Among the passengers of the flotilla was the famous Swedish activist Greta Thunberg, who is safe after being intercepted by the Israeli military. France urged Israel to ensure the safety of the activists and guarantee their right to consular protection. Protests against this action by the Israeli military took place in Rome.
