HUR paralyzed online voting in the Russian Federation: consequences of the cyber attack on elections
Cyber specialists from HUR launched a large-scale attack on the Russian Central Election Commission on the day of 'single voting' on September 14. The purpose of the attack was to disrupt online voting in elections held by the Russian authorities, including in the occupied territories of Ukraine. The attack targeted the servers of the CEC, the remote voting platform, and other digital resources used during elections in Russia.

Consequences of the attack
As a result of the attack, the operation of digital services used for online voting was paralyzed. Many Russians were unable to participate in the elections of city mayors and governors. Earlier, cyber specialists had launched an attack on the infrastructure of 'Gazprom', causing significant damage to the network.
As a result of the cyber attack on the CEC and 'Gazprom', Russian resources started to reveal weaknesses in digital security, raising serious concerns about future potential cyber threats in the country.
