Commander of 43rd Artillery Brigade Faces Charges

According to Главком: Yaroslav Lysenko, commander of the 43rd Separate Artillery Brigade named after Hetman Taras Tryasylo, has been formally charged with abuse of authority and organizing the evasion of military duties. According to investigators, the suspect created a 'repair crew' consisting of seven servicemen. Instead of performing their official military functions, these soldiers were allegedly used to carry out renovation work at the personal residences of the officer and his relatives.

Some of these servicemen are reported to have been performing these unauthorized tasks since September 2024. The commander is accused of personally signing payment documents, leading to the unjustified disbursement of state funds. These actions are said to have caused losses exceeding 800,000 hryvnias to the state budget. This case highlights ongoing challenges with corruption and discipline within military structures during a time of national conflict.

Legal Consequences and Investigative Actions

Yaroslav Lysenko has been charged under Part 2 of Article 364, as well as Part 3 of Article 27, Part 2 of Article 28, and Part 4 of Article 409 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. If found guilty, the commander faces a potential prison sentence of up to 10 years. Furthermore, four servicemen from the 'construction brigade' have also been charged under Part 2 of Article 28 and Part 4 of Article 409 of the Criminal Code, which carries a penalty of 5 to 10 years' imprisonment.

The case is being handled by operatives from the Department of Internal Security of the National Police and investigators from the Territorial Directorate of the State Bureau of Investigation in Kyiv. Investigative actions are ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the case and bring the guilty parties to justice.

This case exposes serious misconduct within the military sphere, which could have a negative impact on public trust in military structures.

As the investigation continues, it is important to monitor the further development of the situation and the potential consequences for other servicemen involved in these criminal actions.

The recent charges against Yaroslav Lysenko are part of a broader pattern of misconduct within military ranks, as evidenced by another case involving a deputy company commander in the Vinnytsia region. This officer was accused of extorting money from subordinates in exchange for granting leave, highlighting systemic issues that undermine military integrity.
