DBR uncovered a scheme for overpayment for firewood for the army: two officials will be prosecuted

DBR is investigating a suspicious scheme for the procurement of firewood for the military in Kherson. According to the investigation, officials from the housing maintenance department committed actions that resulted in an overpayment of more than 431 thousand UAH.

According to DBR, the department heads signed a contract for the procurement of firewood without conducting the necessary competition. Their actions were aimed at ensuring that the selected company won the tender at an inflated price.

'One of the subordinates rigged the documents to ensure the victory of an entrepreneur at an inflated price. As a result, a contract was signed for almost 2 million UAH, leading to an overpayment of more than 431 thousand UAH.'

DBR has uncovered violations and initiated a criminal case against the officials on suspicion of abuse of power. They face up to six years in prison. The case has been transferred to court.

The investigation revealed that employees of the housing maintenance department committed violations that led to financial losses and a threat to the defense sector. They are expected to face a court verdict for abuse of office.
