Commemorating the memory of those lost in the Russian-Ukrainian war

According to glavcom.ua: Every day at 9 AM, Ukrainians honor the memory of all those taken by war. Today we remember Dmitry Lyaschenko.

Dmitry Lyaschenko died on November 23, 2024, from enemy shelling while fulfilling a combat mission near the city of Vovchansk in the Kharkiv region. The group that was conducting a territorial rotation was shelled, and nearly all were killed. A month later, Dmitry's body was returned to his family. He was 32 years old. Dmitry was born on March 17, 1992, in the village of Koziivka, Kharkiv region.

The man was conscripted into the army in 2019 to defend Ukraine's independence in the area of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO). In September 2024, he retrained for the position of a sapper in the 71st Detached Ski Battalion. Dmitry Lyaschenko was awarded the Order of 'For Courage' of the III degree and the badge of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine 'Combatant Cross'.

Oksana, the wife of the deceased: 'He had few friends, but many acquaintances. He was very kind, sincere, open, positive, and non-confrontational. Now I have to learn to live completely differently. But the most painful part is explaining to small children that their dad is no longer here.'

Let us honor the memory of those who fell in the struggle for independence. We remember the citizens of Ukraine who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state.

During the war, not only soldiers are lost, but also their loved ones who remain lonely due to the loss in the fight for independence. By honoring the memory of the fallen, we remember their sacrifice and the greatness of the soul that permeated every action and deed in defense of the homeland.
