Norway allocates 400 million dollars to Ukraine: how the funds will be used this winter
Support for Ukraine from Norway
According to Кулеба: Norway has announced an allocation of about 400 million dollars to support Ukraine, particularly for ensuring energy resilience during the winter. These funds will be directed towards urgent needs, especially in the context of the recent massive shelling, during which Russia used over 20 missiles against Ukraine's thermal power plants.
During a meeting with Norway's Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide, various aspects of support for Ukraine were discussed. Notably, a significant issue was the restoration of housing, which has become critical in light of the current challenges. Norway is implementing the Nansen program, with total funding amounting to 205 billion Norwegian krone by 2030. It is important to note that by 2025 this program reached 85 billion Norwegian krone, indicating Norway's serious intentions regarding support for Ukraine.
Investments in Energy Infrastructure
Additionally, NEFCO’s investments in energy efficiency projects amount to 16 million euros, emphasizing efforts to improve energy infrastructure. This funding is an important step in ensuring energy security and restoring Ukraine's infrastructure during the winter.
Norway continues to actively support Ukraine amidst the escalation of the conflict, which is especially important in light of the recent attacks on energy facilities. The allocated funds and investments will contribute not only to the restoration of vital infrastructure but also to ensuring the viability of the Ukrainian population during the winter period. This assistance underscores the solidarity of the international community with Ukraine and the need for support during difficult times.
