Pensions in Ukraine: Indexing and the highest payments

In the state budget of Ukraine for the current year, two pension indexations for citizens are planned. Already next month, payments will be indexed to 1130 hryvnias, and by the end of the year - up to 1208 UAH (with a minimum pension in the country of 1074 UAH).

The Pension Fund stated that in addition to minimum pensions, the increase will also affect other payments - benefits for workers in hazardous professions and the disabled, bonuses, and others, as reported by kp.ua.

Currently, more than 11 million Ukrainians are retirement pensioners. The average pension in the country is just over one and a half thousand hryvnias. Five years ago, the authorities decided to raise the retirement age for women, which is increasing every six months and will reach sixty years by 2020.

It is worth noting that the highest pensions in the state are received by judges - nearly 1.5 thousand people. They receive about 16.5 thousand hryvnias monthly. The pension of a deputy is 15 thousand UAH. 'Law enforcement officers' are paid almost three thousand, slightly more than three - Chernobyl workers and diplomats. Prosecutors receive about 7 thousand UAH each month. For pensions over 4134 UAH, the state levies a tax of 15%.

Let us also remind that at the beginning of 2016, the maximum pension in the country was reduced to 10,740 UAH. This only affected those who retired this year. All others will retain their high pensions.

Meanwhile, the situation with pensions is most difficult in Ukraine in the Donbas. In the occupied territories, pensioners do not receive money at all, as the Pension Fund does not operate in the eastern regions, and it is impossible to make payments to the population there.

'All citizens of Ukraine have equal rights. This is the main message. This explains everything, including pensions and all types of social assistance. My position on this issue is unequivocal. For payment. If we integrate these territories and people into Ukraine, as stated by the president and prime minister, as confirmed by billions of social payments, but there is an economic blockade, what can be done about it? These are two completely different trends of state policy.', - said the minister for temporarily occupied territories and internally displaced persons Vadim Chernysh.

At the same time, in the Donbas territory controlled by the Ukrainian government, displaced persons regularly receive their money.
