Ukrainians refuse gas systems: electric vehicle sales doubled

In August of this year, gas systems were installed on only 1161 passenger cars, which is almost half of last year's figure. Experts explain this decrease in the popularity of installing gas systems in Ukraine due to the growing popularity of electric vehicles.

According to statistics, the number of gas systems installations in August decreased by 9.6% compared to July and by 47.2% compared to the same period last year. Experts predict further reduction in this indicator in the future.

Among imported used cars in Ukraine, more than half, namely 51%, are electric vehicles up to 5 years old. At the same time, only 1% of passenger cars have gas systems installed.

According to the Institute of Market Research, there is a decline in interest in installing gas systems on cars in Ukraine due to the rise in popularity of electric vehicles. This trend may continue to change the Ukrainian car market in the future, increasing the number of electric cars on the country's roads.
