The labor market is changing: the number of vacancies with booking has increased eightfold
Changes in the labor market in Ukraine
The labor market in Ukraine has undergone significant changes: the number of vacancies with the possibility of booking from mobilization has increased eightfold over the past year. This trend is particularly noticeable in the production segment, where there has been an elevenfold increase in vacancies. Thus, new employment opportunities are becoming available not only for specialists but also for laborers, salespeople, builders, and loaders.
Vacancy statistics
In particular, the growth in the number of vacancies among laborers is 18 times, among salespeople – 13 times, among builders – 9 times, loaders – 8 times, and drivers – 5 times. Public interest in vacancies with booking has increased sixteenfold, indicating changes in the needs of people in the labor market.
As of October 2025, the situation with vacancies looks as follows:
- Kyiv region: nearly 2000 vacancies
- Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv, Kharkiv, and Odesa regions: 300-700 offers
- Zaporizhzhia and Ivano-Frankivsk regions: 200-250 vacancies
Among the median salaries in October 2025:
- Ivano-Frankivsk region: 40,000 hryvnias
- Kherson and Ternopil regions: 35,000 hryvnias
- Kyiv region: 33,400 hryvnias
However, the labor market faces challenges: 38% of employers note an increase in layoffs among workers aged 18-22. At the same time, 50% of companies report layoffs of young specialists who wish to go abroad. This indicates challenges facing the labor market in the current economic conditions.
Vacancies in production, such as sawmill workers, electricians, machinists, cooks, and fuelers, are also actively being filled. The leading professions in terms of the number of responses include salespeople, where the response rate has increased 66 times, laborers – 38 times, and builders – 9 times. This confirms interest in new opportunities in the labor market and indicates the adaptation of the workforce to new conditions.
Thus, the situation in the labor market in Ukraine indicates significant changes caused by new conditions and emerging needs in society.
On one hand, the increase in the number of vacancies with booking from mobilization points to the adaptation of the market to new realities, but on the other hand, the challenges in retaining young specialists demonstrate the difficulties faced by the economy in the context of emigration and changing labor priorities. This requires new strategies from employers to attract and retain personnel.
