Russia stated that it did not plan to attack Poland: what is known about the drone incident
The Russian Ministry of Defense denied the accusations of plans to attack facilities on the territory of Poland on the night of September 10. This was reported with reference to the Russian military department.
Facilities for striking on the territory of Poland were not planned. The maximum range of the Russian drones, which reportedly crossed the border into Poland, does not exceed 700 km. However, we are ready to hold consultations with the Polish Ministry of Defense on this matter.
The Russian side reported that during the night, massive strikes were conducted with high-precision weapons from the air, sea, and land on military facilities in Ukraine. These targets were identified in the Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnytsky, Zhytomyr regions, and in the cities of Vinnytsia and Lviv.
These targets were achieved, all facilities were affected.
During the attack, Russian drones also flew into Polish territory, forcing the Polish army to shoot them down. According to the Prime Minister of Poland, 19 drones entered their territory, but four of them were shot down.
The Polish armed forces have launched a military operation to detect and destroy hostile drones. They used aviation and air defense systems and closed airspace over some airports for safety. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is ready to assist Poland in building a defense system against Russian drones.
The Kremlin spokesperson refused to comment on the incident with the drone on Polish territory, stating that all questions must be directed to the Russian Ministry of Defense. At the same time, he accused NATO and the EU of constantly baseless accusations of Russian provocations.
On the night of September 10, Russian drones attacked facilities on the territory of Ukraine and also flew into Polish territory, provoking a corresponding reaction from the Polish army. Russia's denial of plans to attack Poland was provided, but tensions in Eastern Europe are rising, leaving many questions about the future of the region.
