Donald Trump's Davos Visit

According to ХВИЛЯ: Donald Trump arrived at the World Economic Forum in Davos, aiming to assert his dominance on the global stage. During his appearance, he threatened Denmark and seven other NATO allies with punitive tariffs over the issue of Greenland. Trump further demanded that control of Greenland be transferred to the United States by February 1. In a separate initiative, he announced plans to expand the authority of his proposed 'Peace Council,' over which he would hold veto power for all decisions.

Formation of the 'Peace Council'

In the context of forming this 'Peace Council,' France has declined an invitation to join the format, while Morocco, Qatar, and Indonesia have agreed to participate. Trump has extended invitations to 58 world leaders for this initiative. The U.S. leader also made public his private correspondence with French President Emmanuel Macron.

'We are fully aligned on Syria. We can do much on Iran. I do not understand what you are doing with Greenland.', Emmanuel Macron

Additionally, Trump emphasized that he would not focus on peace initiatives because he has not received a Nobel Peace Prize. This drew criticism from a senior European official, who stated: 'This is not what we agreed to in Sharm el-Sheikh.' Trump's Davos visit has thus sparked controversy and raised questions about international diplomacy and peacekeeping efforts.

The visit underscores increasing pressure on the international community regarding the distribution of influence and control over strategic territories like Greenland. The tariff threats and France's refusal to join the 'Peace Council' point to potential rifts between the United States and its traditional allies. This situation could lead to heightened tensions in transatlantic relations and impact global political stability. The Davos forum, typically focused on economic cooperation, became a stage for these geopolitical demands.
