Ukraine's Tourist Tax Sees Significant Increase
According to ХВИЛЯ: Revenue from Ukraine's tourist tax surged by 31.5% in 2025, reaching a record high of 359 million hryvnias. This figure represents an increase of 86 million hryvnias compared to the previous year. The State Tax Service of Ukraine published this data, highlighting the levy's critical role in financing local government budgets. This tax is typically a small fee paid by visitors for each night of accommodation.
Top Regions for Tourist Tax Revenue
The regions where tourists contributed the most funds were:
- Kyiv - 70.6 million hryvnias
- Lviv Oblast - 63.1 million hryvnias
- Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast - 46.2 million hryvnias
- Zakarpattia Oblast - 31.9 million hryvnias
These four areas led the nation in total tourist tax collections.
Legal entities, including hotels and resorts, paid nearly 200 million hryvnias, a 34.7% increase from the year before. Meanwhile, individual entrepreneurs and owners of private guesthouses contributed 159 million hryvnias, with their payments growing by 27.6%.
