New Tourist Trails in Chernivtsi Region
According to УНІАН — Туризм: By the end of 2026, two new tourist routes will be established in the Bukovynian Carpathians, located in the Chernivtsi region. Both trails start from the village of Samakova. The first route leads to the former radar station known as Pamir, while the second takes hikers to Mount Velykyi Stizhok, situated within the Vyzhnytskyi Nature Park.
The path to the Pamir station will be equipped with informational signage to improve navigation and convenience for visitors. Additionally, the initial section from Samakova to the Maksymets Ridge will be clearly marked. The Pamir route is designed for both hikers and cyclists, supporting the growth of active tourism in the area. The trail to Velykyi Stizhok is over 5 kilometers long, offering scenic views and a chance to experience Bukovyna's natural beauty.
Growing Tourist Interest in the Region
Currently, there are 39 tourist routes in the Chernivtsi region, highlighting its increasing appeal to travelers. The Vyzhnytskyi and Cheremoskyi nature parks also feature their own 3D eco-trail tours, which may attract additional visitors.
- The most affordable double rooms in guesthouses range from 700 to 1,000 Ukrainian hryvnias per night.
- More upscale hotels and spa resorts start at 2,500 hryvnias and above.
The development of these new tourist routes in the Chernivtsi region could significantly boost the local economy by drawing more visitors and creating jobs in the service sector. The rising popularity of ecotourism in Ukraine also underscores the need to preserve natural resources and cultural heritage, which can serve as a foundation for sustainable growth in local communities.
