According to Главком: A massive blaze continues to burn within the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, complicated by high winds that have generated a dangerous fire tornado. As of the morning of July 3, units from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES), the fire protection service of the state enterprise 'Pivnichna Pushcha', and personnel from the Chernobyl Radiation and Environmental Biosphere Reserve are actively battling the flames. The fire is concentrated in scattered areas, and rescue teams are working to encircle and plow the ignition points, create mineralized firebreaks, and clear forest roads to contain the spread.

Weather conditions, particularly strong gusts, are hampering extinguishing efforts. Despite these challenges, radiation levels inside the exclusion zone remain within normal limits, with no exceedances of permissible radiation levels recorded. As rescuers describe:
