According to glavcom.ua: Scientists have discovered a marvel of a lake beneath the sea! A group of researchers from Greece, Malta, and Italy has found a large freshwater reservoir under the floor of the Corinthian Gulf, which has existed for 800 thousand years. This lake is located at a depth of 20 to 700 meters, and its formation is linked to glacial periods and falling sea levels.
Greek scientists believe that this discovery will have great significance for the country, which needs additional sources of drinking water. Data about this underground lake will help better understand geological processes and provide the opportunity to find new water sources.
