Starting from November 1, a new EKMT system will come into operation for carriers: what will change
Starting from November 1, 2025, road carriers will have the opportunity to use a new digital system to provide information about their activities. This decision was made at the meeting of the European Conference of Ministers of Transport, where support for API exchange and Ukraine's activity were called important steps in implementing the new system.
Meeting participants reviewed the experience of preparing for the implementation of the EKMT electronic permit system for international freight transport. Each participating country will introduce a 3-month grace period for carriers during inspections, but they urge careful and timely completion of each transport in the system.
Ukraine, which is at the forefront of activity in testing the system, has already announced its readiness to integrate its data into the EKMT digital system. This means that from the beginning of the new year, the test system will be turned off, and all carriers must transfer their data to the new main system.
