A total of 298.8 million UAH has been directed for road restoration in Barvinkove, along with 3 billion UAH for maintenance on high-traffic roads. The government emphasizes the critical importance of rebuilding road infrastructure, particularly in frontline regions, for ensuring stable logistics and the functioning of the state during the ongoing conflict.
Vitaliy Kindrativ, a representative of the Cabinet of Ministers, stated that:
“We are directing resources to facilities that meet the daily needs of the country, including the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and support the operation of key processes.”
According to the established deadlines, maintenance on roads of international importance must be completed by May 1, 2026, with all major work finished by June 1, 2026.
Repair and Maintenance of Public Roads
Furthermore, the government has distributed 12.6 billion UAH, earmarked in the state budget for 2026, for the repair and maintenance of public roads. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has previously stated that 52 billion UAH is needed for road repairs across Ukraine. These measures aim to improve road surface quality and ensure safer conditions for drivers and pedestrians.
Restoring Ukraine's road infrastructure is a strategically vital step for supporting the economy and ensuring security amid the war. Investments in road repair will not only improve transport conditions but also foster the development of local economies. Given the planned completion dates, it is crucial that all repair stages are executed on time and in accordance with established quality standards.
In addition to the substantial funding for Barvinkove, the Ukrainian government has also allocated 15.6 billion UAH for road repairs nationwide, with specific deadlines set for 2026.
