New trolleybuses for Kremenchuk
У Кременчуку завершили оновлення парку тролейбусів новими екологічними маршрутками.

In Kremenchuk, the full update of the trolleybus fleet has been completed: the city received the first three out of 18 new Ukrainian trolleybuses with a large reserve of autonomous run. They will operate in areas where there has never been a contact network — in Revivka, First and Second Zanasipy. This is reported by Mayor Vitaliy Maletskyi.

Kremenchuk Trolleybuses: Autonomous Drive in Remote Areas

According to the mayor, the new vehicles allow routes to be laid where electric transport movement was technically impossible before. The city has been testing such solutions for several years: the first route across the bridge was launched precisely on the autonomous drive, despite criticism and doubts. Now transport will go even further — to residential areas where trolleybuses have never been.

The old trolleybuses have been completely written off, and the fleet has been formed with new, energy-efficient machines. According to the city authorities, the updated fleet is among the most modern in Ukraine.

The Trolleybus Update Project and Its Financing

Supplies are carried out within the framework of the program «Urban Public Transport of Ukraine 2», funded by the European Investment Bank. The new vehicles will open up the opportunity to cover areas that were previously only accessible by buses with electric transport.

Within the city's transport network, a few key changes are highlighted:

  • New trolleybuses are being launched on routes to the micro-districts of Revivka, First and Second Zanasipy.
  • The old trolleybus fleet has been completely replaced with modern vehicles.
  • The autonomous drive will allow movement in areas without a contact network.

Maletskyi also reminded that all privileged categories of passengers will continue to ride the trolleybuses for free. The city expresses its gratitude to European partners and the Ministry of Community Development for supporting the project.

Earlier, we wrote that 13 cities will receive new public transport funded by 28 million euros from the EIB, including Kremenchuk.
