A new employment threat has emerged for Ukrainians in Poland
A new challenge for foreign workers, particularly Ukrainian citizens, is forming in Poland. The job market is experiencing increased competition due to a mass return of Poles who previously worked in Germany. This is already affecting the number of vacancies in key industries. InPoland reports on this.
Polish government and trade union sources are recording a trend of returning labor migrants from Germany, who are increasingly choosing to work at home. As a result, vacancies that were previously filled by foreigners are gradually being occupied by local workers.
The labor market in Poland: new competition
Experts note that the most significant changes are felt in sectors where traditionally many Ukrainians worked. This includes construction, logistics, industry, and agriculture. Here, Ukrainian workers have long compensated for the labor shortage caused by Poles leaving for abroad.
Now the situation is changing: the return of Poles may lead to a reduction in available vacancies for foreigners and increased competition for jobs.

How employers are changing conditions for Ukrainians
Representatives of Polish companies confirm that part of the business is already reviewing hiring approaches. Among the changes observed in the market:
-
increased salaries to retain employees;
-
transition to short-term employment contracts;
-
stricter requirements for experience and qualifications.
At the same time, the Ministry of Family and Labor in Poland emphasizes: Ukrainians who work legally in the country retain the right to employment and a full package of social guarantees. No mass layoffs or restrictions for foreigners have been announced so far.
