The government simplifies access to medicines in villages: what changes for patients
The government of Ukraine has decided to support the proposal of the Ministry of Health and the State Service for Medicines and Drug Control to simplify the procedure for issuing medicines at paramedic stations. This is an important new initiative aimed at easing access for the population to essential medications, especially in villages.
There is no longer a need to adhere to the outdated norm that required medicines to be selected from a limited list for paramedic clinics. This deregulation will not only simplify the work for pharmaceutical companies but will also make it easier for residents of rural areas to obtain the necessary drugs.
'Today, such agreements are already in place at 755 paramedic stations and FAPs, 590 rural and district hospitals and outpatient clinics, as well as 49 medical points,' the Ministry of Health explained.
Thus, the government's decision on deregulation in the area of medicines allows communities to independently determine which medical products are most important to them and promotes faster and more convenient access to medications for patients in villages.
