A clip has been filmed in Ukraine on a demined field: Kozlovskyi and Krut about safety
Ukrainian singers Vitalii Kozlovskyi and Maryna Krut performed a song to the words of Ivan Franko in the middle of a recently demined field in Kyiv region. This cultural performance has become part of the artistic campaign 'Free land sounds', which is being implemented by the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine together with the national platform for humanitarian demining Demine Ukraine, supported by UNDP in Ukraine.
The campaign aims to show that humanitarian demining is important not only for safety but also for recovery, creativity, and hope. According to the Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine Ihor Bezkaraivnyi, it is important to use not only traditional methods of informing the population about handling explosive objects.
Humanitarian demining in Ukraine
For Vitalii Kozlovskyi, the collaboration with Maryna Krut and the filming in a demined field became symbolic — the day before, the artist became an ambassador for humanitarian demining in Ukraine. Ukraine remains one of the most mined countries in the world. More than 136,000 km² of territories, or almost one-fifth of the country, require inspection and potential clearance. Currently, thanks to the work of sappers, manufacturers, technical specialists, developers of innovative solutions, and the support of partners and donors, more than 37,000 km² of Ukrainian land have already been demined and returned to safe use.
Ukrainian singers joined the humanitarian demining campaign, emphasizing the importance of supporting this process for the recovery of the country and ensuring the safety of its residents.
