Republicans in the Senate Propose New PEACE Act Legislation

According to hvylya.net: Two prominent Republicans in the Senate have introduced the PEACE Act, which governs the financing of American arms supplies to Ukraine. This legislation aims to create a special fund within the U.S. Department of the Treasury, through which European allies can provide $5-8 billion annually to replenish Pentagon arsenals after weapons are sent to Ukraine.

According to the publication, Wicker has already discussed the bill with the White House, which 'generally reacted positively to the idea'. The plan is to include it in the annual defense budget.

Trump Threatens New Tariffs on Russia

Sources indicate that Trump has shortened the ultimatum to Putin from 50 days to 10 days for a ceasefire. If Russia fails to comply, the president threatens to impose new tariffs on Russia and its trading partners. Recently, Trump also set 25% tariffs on India due to 'unfair trade practices' and cooperation with Russia.

In the U.S., there remains $3.85 billion in allocated funds for arms supplies that Trump has not yet used. Recently, the Pentagon halted some ammunition supplies, which 'apparently surprised part of Trump's administration and Congress'.

The proposed legislation and threats of new tariffs indicate attempts to strengthen the military strategy in support of Ukraine and react to unfavorable developments on the international stage. All of this may impact the geopolitical situation in the region.
