The Ministry of Internal Affairs revealed details: how to verify the authenticity of the vehicle registration certificate

According to hvylya.net: Ukrainian drivers can now easily check the authenticity of the vehicle registration certificate. According to representatives of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the documents have special security features that make forgery impossible – this is especially important as many ads for the sale of fake documents have appeared on the internet recently.

Security technologies

Vehicle registration certificates are made using modern technologies that have a high degree of protection against forgery. They are plastic cards with a security chip, and the number and series are applied using laser engraving. Black printing on both sides disappears under infrared radiation, and the design contains background grids and elements of Ukraine's symbolism.

Thanks to new security features introduced in August 2024, there is also a holographic coating on the certificate. A QR code that will take you to the website of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will help verify the authenticity of the document.

If the owner’s data does not appear online for certificates issued before 2013, it is better to contact the MIA service center to obtain a new document. The exchange for the new sample is selective.
