Adviser Dismissed and New Appointment Made

According to Главком: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has removed Andrew Roman Mak from his role as a part-time adviser, according to a decree (No. 65/2026). Mak had held this advisory position since his initial appointment by President Zelenskyy in 2019. This move is part of a broader realignment of the presidential administration's team.

Andrew Roman Mak is the head of the Asters law firm in Washington, D.C., and specializes in international deals involving the United States, Ukraine, and CIS countries. His professional standing in Ukraine was recognized in 2010 when the Kyiv Post named him one of the country's most successful expatriates; at the time, he was working for a firm with an annual revenue of $40 million.

Staff Realignment Under President Zelenskyy

Alongside Mak's dismissal, President Zelenskyy has appointed Oleksandr Kubrakov as a presidential adviser on infrastructure and community relations. These staffing changes reflect the evolving priorities of the Ukrainian government as it continues to manage both the war effort and domestic reconstruction.

This personnel shift may indicate a restructuring of the president's team and a renewed focus on priorities like infrastructure projects and community engagement. The appointment of Kubrakov, who has relevant experience in infrastructure development, could enhance the implementation of state initiatives in this critical sector.

Consequently, the changes within the presidential team appear to be a strategic response to the current challenges facing Ukraine.
