Pensioners Abroad Must Confirm Identity for Payments: Who Has to Verify
Ukrainian pensioners must confirm their identity annually to receive payments from the Pension Fund. This has become a mandatory requirement since 2025 under the new Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 299. If the pensioner does not do this, their payments may be suspended, and funds transferred to the Fund for safekeeping.
The Pension Fund also receives information about individuals who have not confirmed their identity, including internally displaced persons and residents of temporarily occupied territories. Identification has become even stricter with new procedures and requirements. In June 2025, Resolution No. 765 expanded the functions of the Pension Fund to include the appointment and payment of social assistance, leading to the implementation of new procedures for recipients.
Summary
From now on, Ukrainian pensioners must confirm their identity annually to receive pension payments; otherwise, funds may be left in the Pension Fund. In cases of non-identification, accounts may be blocked. The expansion of the Pension Fund's functions is also aimed at improving the procedures for social assistance payments but requires greater attention to the identification of citizens.
