Chef Yevhen Klopotenko presented borscht made from Ukrainian field products
Yevhen Klopotenko showcased in Tokyo borscht prepared with products grown on demined fields in Ukraine. This was reported on social media by the restaurateur and UNDP Ukraine.
The Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture, together with UNDP Ukraine, presented products grown on demined fields as part of the Soul of Soil project at the international conference Ukraine Mine Action Conference 2025. The ingredients for borscht and dumplings were transported over 8,000 kilometers from various regions of Ukraine to Japan to draw attention to the clearing of Ukrainian lands from mines.
It was important for me to showcase Ukraine and our cuisine at such a significant international event. The event included Japanese high-ranking officials, journalists, and bloggers. Wide media coverage is expected, and this will help the Japanese better understand what real Ukrainian borscht is
