Poacher in Odesa Region Caught Fishing for 215 Thousand: What Punishment Awaits

According to glavcom.ua: The perpetrator was found with nets and catch on a rubber boat without the necessary permits. After inspection, 42 units of fish were confiscated and sent for temporary storage to a specialized enterprise, as well as fishing equipment and gill nets measuring 400 meters in length. In total, the damages from illegal activity amounted to 215 thousand UAH.
In the Odesa region, a local resident was detained for illegal fishing using nets. The man caught fish worth over 215 thousand UAH. Law enforcement officers apprehended him during fishing when a spawning ban was in effect.
This news serves as an example of a violation of environmental legislation in Ukraine. Illegal fishing causes serious harm to the ecosystems of water bodies and can affect natural balances.
