Reserve+ App Update

According to ХВИЛЯ: The Reserve+ application has introduced a new feature that clearly distinguishes between conscripts and reservists, marking a significant change from its previous functionality. Until now, the app only showed categories for draftees and those liable for military service, leaving reservists invisible in the system. Users can now see whether an individual is classified as a 'person liable for military service' or a 'reservist.'

This update carries important implications for workforce management, as it directly affects how employers handle employee records and mobilization obligations. According to the new data, reservists are now labeled as 'reservist' in the app. A person can become a reservist in two ways:

  • by voluntarily signing a contract;
  • by being discharged from military service while still deemed fit for reserve duty.

Conscripts who served at the start of the full-scale invasion and were later released have been transferred to the operational reserve. Meanwhile, individuals who never served or only completed a military training program at a university can only become reservists if they choose to do so voluntarily.

"Reservists cannot be reserved, and they don't count toward the quota. This is a betrayal. The state is deliberately doing this so we can't reserve our employees."

Tetiana Donets

In light of these developments, employers must now review their employee lists carefully. They should ask staff to provide an up-to-date printout from Reserve+ and check whether any employees are listed as reservists. If reservists are found, the correct category must be entered in column two of the list, and column nine-which records the date and time of the new document-must also be updated accordingly.

It is important to note that if an employee is marked as a 'reserve soldier' with a military occupational specialty code of 999 in Reserve+, this does not indicate a reservist. Instead, it signifies a regular person liable for military service, who can be reserved and counted toward the quota. As such, the changes in Reserve+ have a substantial impact on military record management and how employers interact with employees holding reservist status.

Importance of Tracking Conscripts and Reservists

The update to the Reserve+ app highlights the growing importance of accurately tracking both conscripts and reservists amid modern challenges. This shift could influence mobilization mechanisms and labor force management across the country, especially given defense sector needs. Monitoring changes in these categories may also become a vital tool for employers when planning their human resources policies and fulfilling defense obligations. Adapting to these new requirements is therefore key to ensuring stability in both the labor market and the defense sector.

As the Reserve+ app enhances its features to better categorize military personnel, it is crucial for employers to stay informed about related updates. A recent fix addressing military classification issues further highlights the importance of accurate employee records. Understanding these changes can help businesses navigate their responsibilities more effectively and avoid potential legal complications.
